Catholic Faith and Public Life: Challenges for Young Catholic Latino Leaders

What are the responsibilities and opportunities of young Latino leaders to act on their faith in public life? How can Pope Francis’ message, Catholic ethics, and social teaching shape the work of Latino leaders in the United States and Latin America? What are opportunities and obstacles related to Latino participation in politics and the Church? How should Catholic values help shape US policy toward Latin America, now and in the future?

This was the Second Gathering of the Catholic Latino Leadership Initiative, or Iniciativa de Liderazgo Católico, and included time for questions, discussion, networking, and a reception. The discussion was led by Father Allan Figueroa Deck, SJ, Lydia Dibos, and Ambassador Roger Noriega. The Catholic Latino Leadership Initiative is for Latino leaders 40 and under seeking to explore how their faith, Catholic Social Thought, and work connect in their professional life now and in the future.
