Summary

This is a pivotal time for our Church, for our nation, and for the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University.

Since its founding in 2013—the same year as Pope Francis’ election—the Initiative has become a distinctive center of principled dialogue, reaching hundreds of thousands of people, lifting up new leaders, and advancing our common values and goals. With the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first pontiff from the United States, who has made advancing Catholic social teaching one of his chief priorities, the Initiative is better positioned than ever to carry forward this vital work.
